JoAnn Roth - East Bary Barrington (Jan/31/2004) A. JoAnn Roth Retired fund-raiser, active volunteer ---- A. JoAnn Roth, 66, of 107 Windward Lane, and formerly of Barrington, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at home. Born in Frankfort, Mich., a daughter of Ella W. (Smith) Heath of Venice, Fla., and the late Walter L. Heath, she lived in Bristol for seven years and in Barrington for 10 years. Ms. Roth was a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society for six months, retiring two years ago. She was also a representative for Harper, Ramos and Sheridan Realtors of Bristol. She previously worked at Wheaton College, Norton, Mass., for 10 years and at Brown University and Wellesley College, Wellesley, Mass. She received her BA in History from Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio, and was a member of the Oberlin class alumni, where she was president for many years. She was also a member of the Oberlin committee to appoint alumni to the trust committee. She was a volunteer for the Bristol Historical and Preservation Society and Friends of Linden Place. Besides her mother she leaves a lifelong companion, Alfred Hetland of Bristol; three daughters, Lisa Roth Fleury of Arcueil, France, Laurie Roth of Thornton, Colo., and Linda Roth-Trubey of Brookline, N.H.; a brother, Walter S. Heath of Concord, Mass.; and two grandchildren, Morgane and Steven Fleury, both of Arcuiel. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at the North Farm Yacht Club, North Farm, Hope Street. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368 or Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
