Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 4, at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Home. Published in the Record-Eagle on 5/3/2007. ------------------------------------------ Wiggins, Earl L. BENZONIA — Earl L. Wiggins died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in Traverse City. He was born in Benzonia on July 25, 1941, the son of Harry Leroy and Margaret (Sage) Wiggins, both of whom preceded him in death. Earl served in the United States Army and was a volunteer fireman for Benzonia Township. He worked as a trucker and as a sexton for Benzonia Township, Homestead Township, Colfax Township, Platte Township and Weldon Township Cemeteries for many years. He served his community and was loved and respected by many. He always had a "Hi" for all. He loved the Lord and has gone to be at home with Him. He is survived by brothers and sisters, Barbara (Fred) Laffleur, Beth (Dennis) Clark, Ronald (Josephine) Wiggins, David (Paulette) Wiggins and Michael (Adell) Wiggins; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Wiggins and Carol Wiggins; stepdaughter, Tangila (John) Lemcool; and step grandchildren, Shawn, Blaine and Tianna. He was also preceded in death by a son, Earl Leroy Jr.; and three brothers, Carl, Harry and Darryl. Earl was lovingly cared for at Hospice House, where he was surrounded by his family and special friend, Pat Putney and many others that loved him. Visitation will be today, May 4, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Ingersoll will officiate the graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Benzonia Township Cemetery. The Benzonia Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements.
