Winslow b.1918 - d.2006 --------- The Traverse City Record-Eagle on Apr.19,2006 Dorothy Celia Winslow KENNESAW, Ga. — Dorothy Celia Winslow, 87, of Kennesaw, Ga., formerly of Beulah, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at WellStar Tranquility Hospice in Austell, Ga. A Toledo, Ohio, native, she was born Sept. 2, 1918. A private graveside service will be held Friday, April 21, at 1 p.m., at the Benzonia Cemetery in Beulah. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m., today, April 19, at the West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, Ga. She was employed by Ford's during World War II as a final inspector for airplane gears. She also worked for J.L. Hudson Co. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Benzonia, the Commission on Aging in Traverse City, the Eastern Star, Ruth Circle/Hospitality at Our Savior Lutheran Church, the Newcomers Club, Friends of the Library and the Garden Club, all in Beulah and Benzonia. She also was a Girl Scout Leader. Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry B. Winslow; brothers, Dean and Gerry Curtis, and Ralph and Ruth Curtis; sisters-in-law, Jean and Arthur Turanski, and Betty and Charles Cooper. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Poirier of Kennesaw, Ga.; son-in-law, Daniel Poirier of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Damon and Beth Poirier of Lithia Springs and Darrin Poirier of Kennesaw, Ga.; one brother-in-law, David and Wilma Newsome of Beulah; and one cousin, Doris and Lyndon Gilpin of Alpharetta.
