(Bruning) Zwadzich TRAVERSE CITY — Rachel Zwadzich, 84, of Traverse City, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Munson Hospice House. Rachel was born April 28, 1922, in Woodville, Ohio, the daughter of Uri and Zula (Eberly) Bruning. During World War II, Rachel served in the USNR WAVES as a pharmacist mate. She graduated from Earlham College with a Bachelor of Science degree. Rachel was a medical technician and spent much of her working life at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. She is survived by her brother, Harold (Mary) Bruning; nephews, Dr. Thomas (Barbara) Bruning of Marathon, Wis., and Peter (Dr. Elizabeth) Bruning of Traverse City; niece, Dr. Christine Bruning of Traverse City; grand-nephews, Gunnar (Dr. Stephanie) Bruning of Crofton, Md., Hans Bruning of Houghton, Nicholas Bruning of Traverse City and Andrew Bruning of Traverse City. She is also survived by special young friends, whom she called her "adopted grandsons," Dustin and Spencer Dimon. A celebration of Rachel's life will be held at a later date.
