He was born Feb. 7, 1946, in Detroit, the son of Raymond Cecil and Betty (Bow) Snyder. Raymond was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Navy, from which he retired in 1991 after 25 years of service to his country. After retiring from the military, Raymond worked for Luedtke Engineering Company and later for MacDonald Marine. In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed going camping, woodworking, spending time with his family and watching Frankfort High School sporting events. On Dec. 30, 1966, in Oakland County, Raymond married Carrie A. Hromek, who survives him. He is also survived by three children, Kristopher Snyder of Frankfort, Raymond Michael (Ashleigh) Snyder Jr. of Frankfort, and Helen Snyder of Beulah; a granddaughter, Katie Giester; two sisters, Sally Ann (Marlin) Plowman of Fairgrove and Susan (Ron) Knoff of Sterling Heights; a brother, Dennis (Nadine) Snyder of Jacksonville, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Snyder. Visitation will be held this evening, March 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Mr. Robert Bodell officiating. Interment will be in Blaine Township Cemetery in the spring.
