CHESTER "CHET" L. ANDREWS, JR.--- HONOR--Chester "Chet" L. Andrews, Jr., 70, of 
Honor, died Sunday, May 21 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City following a 
long and courageous battle with cancer. -- Chet was a retired truck driver. He 
was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1950. In his
earlieyears he loved racing and raced cars. He had served as the Honor girls 
summer softball league coach and he also was the Benzie Central assistant 
softball coach for four years. -- He was a member of the Cherry Capital Model A 
Club. He was a avid reader and also enjoyed gardening and flowers. -- Born 
December 27, 1929 in Plainwell, he was the son of Chester Lee Sr. and Ruth M. 
(Wilson) Andrews. On April 28, 1979 in Findlay, Ohio he married Diane DeLong. --
 Chet is survived by his wife, Diane; Andrea Lynn Andrews of Honor; sons, 
Chester Brian (Kathy) Andrews of Tampa, FL., and David Ryan (Tipsy) Andrews of 
Valrico, FL. ; a stepson, Matthew David Raney of Grawn; his beloved father, 
Chester Lee Andrews Sr.; his brother, Donald Wilson (Donita) Andrews of Honor; 
grandchildren, Lisa and Chelsey Andrews; nieces and nephews, Danny (Chris) 
Andrews, Nancy (Scott) Fleetwood, Dennis (Robin) Andrews, Jeff (Impe) Andrews. -
- He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth M. Andrews and his sister, Mary 
Lou Andrews. -- Services will be held 1 p.m., today (Wednesday), May 24 at 
Bennett-Barz Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Maher officiating. Cremation has 
taken place. Friends may call at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home at the time of 
the service. -- In liew of flowers, donations may be made to the Chet Andrews 
Memorial for his family at Honor State Bank, Box 67, Honor, MI 49640. Following 
the service all are invited to attend a luncheon being served at Nancy's 
Restaurant. -- Arrangements were handled by the Bennett -Barz Funeral Home, 
Beulah.
