Bushman, 35, of Petersburg passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, after an extended illness. Most of his working years were spent in South Carolina and Alabama with the National Park Service. Locally, he is survived by his mother, Sally Hennessee. Arrangements were made with the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial will be held in Michigan at a later date. ----------------------------------------------------- Bushman, Lawrence A. "Larry" PETERSBURG, Va. — Lawrence "Larry" A. Bushman, 35, of Petersburg, Fa., died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, from complications of diabetes. Born March 3, 1970, in Beulah, he was the son of Sally (Pyle) Hennessee of Petersburg, Va. A 1988 graduate of Benzie County Central High School in Benzonia, he was active in football, field sports and weight lifting. Lawrence was employed by the National Park Service at Congaree Swamp NHS in North Carolina, and Tuskegee Institute NHS in Alabama, for several years until his health started to decline. At that time, he took a job with Cellular One, installing car phones and car radios with Radio World, both in Auburn, Ala. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting and woodworking, and took great pleasure in the care he gave his mother's yard when he was no longer able to work. Lawrence is survived by his mother; maternal grandparents, Al and Betty Pyle of Frankfort; half sister, Lori Gruse of Ellsworth; aunts, Sandy Gillespie of Frankfort and Sue McGregor of Martinsburg, W.Va.; cousins, Mike (Kathy) Pyle of South Dakota, Veronica (John) Gondek of Michigan, Jason (Elisa) Gillespie and Gentry (Jeffrey) Busik, both of Mathews, Va.; several uncles and one aunt; and numerous cousins on his paternal side. He was preceded in death by his uncles, Michael E. Pyle and Earl Gillespie Jr. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m., at the Eden Bible Church in Beulah, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating.
