BEULAH — Donald E. Crossman, 71, of Beulah, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 14, 1935, in Detroit, the son of Ferris and Armeline (Feldmann) Crossman. Donald had been employed as a welder for Detroit Edison for 37 years until his retirement in 1991. During those years, Donald also built five homes for his family. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, but his main hobby was welding animal art, which is prominently displayed at his home. Donald is survived by four children, Danny Crossman of Honor, David (Kathy) Crossman of Honor, Donna Crossman of Beulah and Diane (David) Gordon of Lapeer; 11 grandchildren, Rob, Brad, Jeremy, Justin, Portia, Trevor, Chad, Drew, Sarah, Darcy and Dustin; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Crossman of Honor and Robert (Joyce) Crossman of Benzonia; his close friend and nephew, Todd Crossman; and numerous nieces and nephews. On July 23, 1952, in Highland Park, Donald married Helen B. Tarr, who preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted today, June 3, at 1 p.m. at the Eden Bible Church in Beulah, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dan Ingersoll will officiate. Interment will be in the Champion Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Munson Hospice or to the American Cancer Society. Helen was born on Dec. 16, 1934, in Highland Park, the daughter of John and Agnes (Coleman) Tarr. Helen loved painting, arts and crafts, and being outdoors. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and playing card games. Helen is survived by husband, Don; her four children, Danny Crossman of Honor, David (Kathy) Crossman of Honor, Donna Crossman of Beulah, and Diane (David) Gordon of Lepeer; 11 beloved grandchildren; three beloved great- grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Jim) Matheson of Oxford, and Elaine Durantini of Clawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at 1 p.m., from Eden Bible Church in Beulah, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah.
