Albright Carl W. Albright, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 at his home in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, where he lived since 1989. He was born Oct. 31, 1920 on his family's farm in St. Paul, IL, graduated from the University of Illinois and the Harvard Business School. He served in the Army as an officer in Europe and Japan during World War II. He met his wife, Marion, in Chicago after the war. He was the owner of Fisher, Albright & Masters, Inc. of Chicago and Elk Grove, IL, interior contractors for commercial and industrial buildings throughout the Chicago area for 35 years. During his ownership their projects included the Prudential Building, the training facility for the McDonald Corporation in Oak Brook, and the United Airlines terminal among many. He lived in LaGrange and Hinsdale, IL during this period with his family, and was a member of the University Club of Chicago where he served on the Board of Governors, the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago, and the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hinsdale, where he served on the Board of Elders. He had a keen interest in business, economics, international events and was an enthusiastic golfer, reader and bridge player. He devoted considerable effort to local organizations, especially water quality preservation efforts, at his beloved second home at Crystal Lake in Frankfort, MI, where he spent 50 summers with his family. A Memorial Service was held on Feb. 21, 2004 in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. He is survived by his wife, Marion E. Albright of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Frankfort, MI; his daughters, Kimberly Albright and Christine Albright; and four grandchildren. Published in the Chicago Tribune on 4/4/2004.
