Butler Sr. Died December 25, 2004 TRAVERSE CITY - Glynn F. Butler Sr., 78, formerly of Frankfort, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born on Jan. 20, 1926, in Ludington. Glynn married Barbara Mowry on March 7, 1959. Glynn retired in 1965 from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Boatswain Mate, and from Frankfort Manufacturing in 1988. He was a member of Frankfort United Methodist Church, the Frankfort Lions for over 25 years, Special Military Active and Retired Travel Club and the Benzie Area Historical Society. His wife, Barbara, survives him, along with children, Glynn F. Butler Jr. of Traverse City, Claudia (Sean) Knudsen of Howell, Gayle (Gregg) Relyea of Grandville and Cheryl Kramer of Plymouth; grandchildren, Brittany and Brent Butler, Kevin Danks, Nathan and Amanda Knudsen, Branden and Lauren Relyea, and Ashley and Quinn Kramer; two sisters, JoAnn Cherry of Lambertville and Alice Smith of Port Sanilac; and several nieces and nephews. Glynn was preceded in death by his father, Glynn, and mother, Marie; step- father, Charles Butler, and step-mother, Cecile. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Frankfort United Methodist Church, with Rev. Greg Culver officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery North in the spring. Memorials may be directed to the Frankfort United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Benzie Area Historical Society, American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
