Corcoran Died October 15, 2004 FRANKFORT - Dale D. Corcoran, 77, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004, at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital. He was born on Dec. 15, 1926, in Grand Rapids, Minn., the son of Bernard and Mabel (Peterson) Corcoran. Dale married Barbara J. Harrison on Aug. 8, 1947. Dale served in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Frankfort Masonic Lodge and O.E.S., Shriners, American Legion, Lions Club, and he was a proud member of the Democratic Party. Dale was the former owner of Thrifty Foods from 1970?82. Five daughters survive him, Colleen Corcoran of Grand Rapids, Mich., Christine (Randall) Olsen of Frankfort, Denise (Frederick) Schubert of New Bern, N.C., Jennifer (Marty) Ferguson of Duluth, Minn., and Angela (Tim) Cavric of Interlochen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan Johnson, Brienne Olsen, Dillon Olsen, Blake Johnson, Forrest Ferguson, Brady Olsen, Eanne Ferguson, Austin Ferguson, Chase Cavric and Holden Cavric; and a sister, Patricia Kearney. His wife, Barbara, preceded Dale in death on Nov. 9, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral Homes, with Rev. Tim Boal officiating. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. She was born May 9, 1938, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Maynard Victor and Varner Lucille (Williams) Harrison. Barbara graduated from Cadillac High School in 1947. She married Dale D. Corcoran in Cadillac, on Aug. 8, 1947. Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed exercising, shopping, sewing, crafts, traveling and playing cards with her group of friends. She was a member of the Frankfort Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Democratic Party. She was formerly a volunteer with the Frankfort Elementary School and the Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital. She will be remembered as a great mom and grandmother. Barbara is survived by her husband, Dale D. Corcoran of Frankfort; her daughters, Colleen K. Corcoran (Andrew Kroll) of Grand Rapids, Christine A. (Randall) Olsen of Frankfort, Denise K. (Frederick) Schubert of Morganton, N.C., Jennifer G. (Marty) Ferguson of Duluth, Minn., and Angela B. (Tim) Cavric of Interlochen; grandchildren, Ryan Johnson, Brienne Olsen, Dillon Olsen, Blake Johnson, Forrest Ferguson, Brady Olsen, Eanne Ferguson, Austin Ferguson, Chase Cavric and Holden Cavric; her mother, Varner Harrison of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her sister, Jean (Earl) Rasmussen of Ft. Wayne, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father, Maynard Victor Harrison. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Frankfort United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Greg Culver officiating, and the Eulogy by the Rev. Tim Boal. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Barbara, may be made to the Munson Hospice Program, the Susan G.
