Hollenbeck Died April 18, 2005 FRANKFORT - Bob Hollenbeck, 79, of Frankfort, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 23, 1925, in Frankfort, the son of the late Wilbur and Althea Hollenbeck. Bob married Merry Kay Nielsen on June 14, 1952, in Frankfort. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post No. 221. He had strong work ethics and took great pride in his lawn. He was a very resourceful man and enjoyed tinkering on things around the house. He found enjoyment in traveling, ice fishing, candy and holidays with family and friends. Bob's family was his first priority, he taught many of life's lessons. "As this too, will pass," was often used by Bob. He had the respect of all his family. He is survived by his wife, Merry Kay; daughters, Merry Leesa Wilkins and Brooke (Grant) Sowa; daughter-in-law, Marianne Hollenbeck; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Brandon, Heather, Chad, Onika and Mikala; special brother and friend, Keith Hollenbeck; sisters, Ruth and Marian; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. "Casey"; and an infant son. Visitation will be today, April 20, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 1 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Rick Stieve officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery, North. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Son's of the American Legion or the Frankfort American Legion Post No. 221.
