KEITH PHILLIPPI, 86, of Honor, died Dec. 27, 2004. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2005, at 11 a.m., at First Congregational Church of Frankfort, with the Rev. Dinah Haag officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday, at 1:30 p.m., at Crystal Lake Township Cemetery, North, with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post No. 221. The Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral Homes and Cremation Services is handling the arrangements. ---------------------------------- TRAVERSE CITY RECORD EAGLE - 8 June 2005 F. Keith Phillippi Died December 27, 2004 HONOR - F. Keith Phillippi, 86, of Honor, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at the Homesteader. Keith was born in Marquette to Frederick and Beulah (Post) Phillippi on March 22, 1918. In 1950, he married Beatrice (Green) Lysdal, who preceded him in death 1987. He attended Honor Congregational Church and was a member of the Michigan Milk Producers Association for many years, the American Legion in Frankfort, the VFW Post in Beulah and was a life-member of Crystal Lodge #270 F&AM. Keith's traveling adventures lead him to visit all 50 states. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in the Philippines. He was a dairy farmer for many years in Pleasanton Township and in Manistee County as a fruit and vegetable inspector for the Michigan Department of Agriculture. There was also a time when Keith worked on the Ann Arbor Car Ferries. Keith is survived by a daughter, Karen (Carl) Canupp of Charlotte, N.C.; two stepchildren, Shirley (Earl) Soderquist of Frankfort and Martin J. (Yvonne) Lysdal of Thousands Oaks, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He and his wife, Beatrice raised his niece, Sandra K. Phillippi (Cal) Guin of Sparta as one of their own. He was also preceded in death by his father, Frederick; mother, Beulah; stepfather, Nels Holden; and brother, Harold. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2005, at 11 a.m., at First Congregational Church of Frankfort, with the Rev. Dinah Haag officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Township Cemetery North. Memorials may be directed, in memory of Frederick K. Phillippi, to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301 or a charity of one's choice.
