FRANKFORT — Lucille June Raymond, 89, of Frankfort and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., 
died peacefully on Jan. 20, 2007, at the Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital, where 
she was cared for by the wonderful staff in Long Term Care.
Lucille was born on June 27, 1917, in Grand Rapids, to Flossie and Edward 
Douglas. She married Ervin Raymond of Elberta, on Jan. 3, 1935. During their 48 
years of marriage they shared a full life, raising a daughter, Patricia June 
and a son, David Faye. 
She spent many years in Pontiac and Frankfort before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, 
Fla., in 1952, where she lived for 52 years. In 2004, she returned to Frankfort 
to be close to her family.
Throughout the years, she received great pleasure from her family. Her 
children, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, nieces and nephews all had a 
special place in her life. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren were 
always a delight to her. Early morning walks on the Florida beach with her 
grandchildren looking for silver dollars was a favorite for the family.
Lucille was a beautiful, energetic and determined woman. She enjoyed knitting 
and operated her own knitting store. She was a successful cosmetic sales woman 
and manager.
She spent many hours on the golf course perfecting her game, until she finally 
got a hole in one. She even taught her grandchildren to play golf. On most 
Sunday afternoons, you could find her glued to the TV rooting for her beloved 
Miami Dolphins. Of all her pursuits, her greatest love was ballroom dancing, 
which she did into her 80s.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Haugen and son-in-law, Dennis Haugen; 
grandchildren, Denise (Ron) DeCook, Robin Haugen and Michelle Haugen (Robert 
Payne); great-grandchildren, Hogan, Robert, Erik, Christena and Justice; 
daughter-in-law, Deborah Raymond; step-grandchildren, Tina Daniels and 
Stephanie Salamida. Also surviving are her brother, Robert (Sharon) Douglas; 
and sisters, Gerrie Becker and Mary (Sonny) Micallef; as well as many loving 
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin Raymond in 1983; 
and her son, David Raymond in 2005. Also preceding her in death were her 
brother, Jim; and sisters, Winifred, Pearl and Florence.
In eternal life, her family finds consolation in the knowledge that she will be 
reunited with her loved ones who have passed. She will enjoy long walks on a 
warm beach, a perfect golf game with her son, David, the Dolphins winning and 
ballroom dancing with Irv.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date 
in the sunshine and warm breezes in Frankfort.

The Frankfort Chapel of McElduff-Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service is 
handling the arrangements.
