Carrier b. 9 July 1950 d. 13 Jan. 2006 -------------------------------------------- Carrier, Garold Alvin Died January 13, 2006 BENZONIA - Garold Alvin Carrier, 55, of Benzonia, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Munson Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1950, in Frankfort, the son of Gerald and Daisy (Adams) Carrier. Garold had been self-employed, cutting and selling firewood for many years until, due to his health, he was no longer able. He then worked for Coating and Molding Services in Beulah. In his spare time Garold enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, competing in chain saw contests, and most of all, being outdoors. On Aug. 18, 1984, in Frankfort, Garold married Debra K. Gonyon, who survives him. He is also survived by six children, Vicky Carrier of Memphis, Tenn., Tina Bailey of Benzonia, Rebecca Carrier of Memphis, Tenn., Ben (Heather) Bailey of Thompsonville, James (Heather) Carrier of Marmaduke, Ark., and Darrel Carrier of Benzonia; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Frieda (Allen) Bench of Whitehall, Lela (George) Hirschfelt of Florida, Cleora Albring of Owosso and Ella (Tom) Rehil of Traverse City; one brother, Burt (Paula) Carrier of Beulah; one sister-in-law, Dixie Carrier of Benzonia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Garold was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Neal Carrier; and brother, Lester, during infancy. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at 1 p.m., at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
