He was born March 26, 1916, in Detroit, the son of Carlos Henry and Zoie Louise Louisignau. He was married to Jean Borchardt on Feb. 10, 1945, and she survives him. They have been married 62 years. Don served three years as a staff sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, he worked for Michigan Consolidated Gas Company for 24 years in Detroit. He then moved his family up north to Honor, where he lived for 30 years. During that time, he worked for the State Fish Hatchery for 13 years, retiring in 1981. Don is also survived by three sons, Arthur Louisignau, Donald J. (Lu Ann) Louisignau and Alan (Shannon) Louisignau, all of Beulah; and seven grandchildren, Sarah, Joelle, Jean, Jill, Annabelle, Matthew and Kyle.
