Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, from 1 to 9 p.m., at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, 1417 Beulah Highway, Beulah, MI 49617. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah. Marylou Wagar Driver Died August 22, 2004 TRAVERSE CITY - Marylou Wagar Driver, 71, of Traverse City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at her home. Born Nov. 24, 1932, in Wyandotte, she was the daughter of Ford and Elizabeth (Rivard) Wagar. Marylou retired in 1995 from the Traverse Area Public Schools, where she worked in the 8th grade library. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, and received great enjoyment from volunteering for a number of local groups. Marylou's memberships included the Friends of the Traverse City Area District Library, serving on the mailing committee for the TADITALES, an usher for the Encore Society, a member of the Red Hat Society (Jo Ann's Cherryland Hatter's) and belonged to the Child Study Club. Marylou was an avid reader and belonged to many book discussion groups. She also wrote and/or contributed to the Grand Traverse Area Retired School Personnel Newsletter, the Grand Traverse County Democratic Newsletter and the Grand Traverse County AARP Newsletter. Marylou kept score for West Junior High boys and girls basketball for 20 years, worked as an elections official in school and local elections and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Her love for knitting gave her great fulfillment and she made hats for newborns at Munson Medical Center's Nursery and mats for dogs and cats for the Cherryland Humane Society. Marylou was an active parishioner of St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City. Survivors include her four children, Karen (Kerry) Ferguson, W. Douglas (Cynthia) Driver, Nancy (Richard) Ickes and Laurie (Thomas) Kratky; and 10 grandchildren. Marylou was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Ford and Fred Wagar. Friends may call at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Catholic Church on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the Mass. The Rev. Father Peter Eke will serve as celebrant.
