INTERLOCHEN — Darlene Elaine Sikorski, 63, of Interlochen, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Detroit, to John and Katheryn (Wickham) King. Darlene married John Sikorski Jr. on Sept. 7, 1963. Darlene worked at United Technologies - Lear Corporation for 37 years and had many dear friends there. She loved country music, loved to dance (polka, waltz and rock 'n roll), working in her flower gardens, watching her grandson in sports and watching American Idol. She loved talking and having fun with her family and friends, and taking pictures of them. Darlene was a faithful member of the Saint Patrick's Catholic Church and found great comfort and strength in her faith. She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and son-in- law, with whom she enjoyed spending time, which meant a lot to her. She is survived by husband, John Sikorski Jr.; mother, Katheryn King; daughter, Darilynn VanHorn; son, John A. Sikorski; son-in-law, Tim VanHorn; grandchildren, Jordan VanHorn, Teal Sikorski and John M. Sikorski; sisters, Maxine (Bill) Burns, Joyce (Rodger) Sigsbey, Paula (John) Lewis, Joan Robbins and Shirley Stafford; and brothers, Tom (Donna) King and John King. She was preceded in death by father, John King. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Munson Hospice and devoted neighbor, Audrey Andrews. Visitation will take place today, March 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Benzonia Chapel of Jowett Family Funeral Homes. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m., at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Homestead Township Cemetery.
