Fewins b. 29 Nov. 1942 ------------------------------------------------------- TRAVERSE CITY RECORD EAGLE - 10 Feb. 2005 INLAND TWP. - Arthur "Leon" Fewins, Jr., 65, beloved husband, loving father, doting grandfather and great-grandfather; and a friend to everyone he met. Passed away suddenly, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort. Leon was born on Oct. 29, 1939, in Beulah, the son of Arthur and Colleen Fewins. He graduated from the Benzonia High School and maintained a master's electrician license for over 40 years. He married Sandy McCarry on March 28, 1959. Leon retired from Pet Inc. in Frankfort, and had served as Business Agent for Local 81 and was the proud owner of 669 Salvage in Inland Township He truly enjoyed talking with people and making a great deal. His grandchildren will always remember drowning worms (fishing) with grandpa and the fun they had together. His wife, Sandy, who has been his best friend and companion for almost 46 years survives him; along with their three daughters, Sandy (Henry) Smith of Benzonia, Vicki (Ken) Burgess of Interlochen, and Imo Davis of Frankfort; sons, Arthur Leon (Kay Hack) Fewins, III of Interlochen, and Kirk Fewins at home; granddaughters, Heidi Fewins of Bear Lake, Noelle Fewins and Sarah Davis, both of Frankfort; grandsons, Thomas Hack, Jason and Anthony Reed; great-grandson, Teggen of Bear Lake; Very special mother-in-law and friend, Amelia "Toots" McCarry of Bendon; brother, Darryl (Jan) Fewins of Kentwood; sisters, Alice Fewins of Frankfort and Lucinda "Lucy" McGregor of Thompsonville; sisters-in- law, Sharon (John) Beechcraft of Bendon, Sheila Blondshine of Traverse City, Vicky (Grant) Sager of Beulah, and Pearl McCarry of Mason; brother-in-law, Wayne (Jane) McCarry of Copemish; very large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at the Benzonia Chapel of McElduff Funeral from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11 at the funeral home, with Rev. Marvin Rosa officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
