Local arrangements are by Bennett-Barz Funeral Home of Beulah. ----------------------------------------- Traverse City Record Eagle - 1Dec. 1999 Lilly Barhitte Died November 28, 1999 HONOR - Lilly Barhitte, 74, of Honor, went to be with her Lord Sunday evening. Born March 14, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wis., she was the daughter of David and Elsie Palmer. She moved to Ludington at the age of eight. On June 28, 1945, in Muskegon, she married Ken Barhitte. Lilly loved her home, friends and flowers. She always had something good to say about everyone. She liked to play cards, tell funny stories and just plain enjoy life to the fullest. Survivors include her husband, Ken; two children, Lilly Marlene McPherson and Allen (Sandra) Barhitte; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Ann, and a grandson, Mark Allen. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Assoc. through the Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, 1547 W. Ken was born in Muskegon on Jan. 9, 1925. He married Lilly (Palmer) Barhitte on June 28, 1947. A retired meat manager at Kroger for many years, Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was preceded in death by wife Lilly; daughter, Carrie Ann Barhitte; two grandsons, Mark and Bryan McPherson; brother, Howard Barhitte; and sister, Naomi Nash. He is survived by daughters Carol (Frank) Knoche and Marlene (Jill) McPherson; son Allen (Sandy) Barhitte; grandchildren Bruce McPherson, Craig McPherson, Josh Barhitte, Stacy Barhitte, Ryan Barhitte, Chris Deloy, Mike Madsen, Clayton Phillips; great-grandchildren Evan Deloy, Emily Deloy, Trent McPherson; special friends Fanny Smith, Diane and Terry Bigger; fishing buddy Terry Oderkirk; and hunting buddy Joe Pelky.
