Stanton Sr. Died March 3, 2006 GAYLORD - James H. Stanton Sr., 68, of Gaylord and formerly of Thompsonville, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at home. He was born Dec. 13, 1937, to Harold and Mary Ellen (Leeball) Stanton. On Dec. 17, 1960, Jim married Carol E. Dazy in Thompsonville, where they lived for many years before moving to Gaylord. Jim owned Stanton and Sons Builders in Thompsonville. Recently, he worked as an interstate truck driver for Thomas J. Industries in Gaylord. He was an avid woodworker who also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and karaoke singing. Jim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, James (Lorene) Stanton Jr. of Ferndale, Janice Carol Stanton of Lancaster, Texas, and David John Stanton of Gaylord; five grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (John) Sanchez of Beulah, Doris (Jim) Rose of Muskegon and Sandra (Walter) Costigan of Thompsonville; and brother, Ronnie Joe (Judy) Stanton of Brocton, Mass. Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 5, 2006, at 4 p.m., from the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord, where visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of services. The Rev. Douglas McGeorge will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family through the Nelson Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734. Arrangements are by the Nelson Funeral Home.
