A Complete Surprise Party

	The home of A.G. Hunter, west corner of South Fourth and Green streets, was
invaded Oct. 19, in his absence from home.  The invaders came loaded with a
quantity of the substantials of life.  The invaders consisted of a party of
twenty of his relatives, come to help him celebrate his 79th birthday.  He came
to the state of Michigan, May 3, 1831, from Hancock Co. Ohio, being then a lad
of 14 years, Niles has been his P.O. 65 years.
	There were present from out of town, a sister Mrs. Samuel Weaver and daughter
from Buchanan.  Another sister, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Price and son, Overton, from
bend of river.  A niece, Mrs. and Mrs. I.M. Reese, Mishawaka, Ind., Mr. John
Srarks[sic] and wife, 60, Berrien Springs, I.W. Weaver, wife and son, Buchanan,
Liberty Weaver and wife and Mr. Melvin Burdette, from near South Bend.
	Out of a family of twelve there are five living, four being over 70 years old.
 Mr. Hunter being the oldest living.  If the one brother living near Mears,
Oceana county, Mich., and one sister in California and the son, E.W. Hunter and
family of West Port, Chehalis county, Washington, could have been here, the list
would have been complete.
