MRS. MITCHELL PLANS FOR 86TH BIRTHDAY FETE

Buchanan, April 6.--The 86th birthday anniversary of Mrs. Eli Mitchell will be
observed Sunday with a family dinner in the home of Mrs. Mitchell.  All of her
descendants are expected to be in attendance.  They include her children, Mrs.
E.C. McCollum, Buchanan; Bert Mitchell, Wagner District; Mrs. William Stevens,
St. Joseph; Mrs. Richard Beardsley, Chicago, and Andrew Mitchell, Portage
Prairie; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
	Mrs. Mitchell was born April 5, 1854, in Buchanan township, the daughter of
Andrew and Fredericka Conrad, and was married to Eli Mitchell April 21, 1873. 
In 1907 they moved to her present home on North Detroit street.  Since the death
of Mr. Mitchell Jan. 25, 1925, Mrs. Mitchell has lived alone.
	She has been in splendid health until the past winter when she had a slight
attack of Influenza.  Previous to the time she was very active, doing all of her
own housework and making a garden in the summer.
