December 22, 1830, and died at the home of her childhood on February 3, 1901, after an illness of several weeks. She was married to L.P. Alexander on August 2, 1869 at the Methodist church in Belfast after her marriage she and Mr. Alexander came to Buchanan, where they resided the balance of their lives. Mrs. Alexander was pre-enimently[sic] a home lover and a home maker and after the death of her husband still resided a the old home, but went out very very little except to the homes of her intimate friends. Some months ago she left with Mrs. Ward Rhoads and family for Belfast, N.Y. and intended spending the winter with them. About four weeks ago she was seriously ill with pleuropneumonionia and her life was despaired of, but she successfully passed the crisis of the disease and was some better, but her weakened condition would not permit her to rally from the effects of the disease and on Sunday morning she peacefully passed away. The deceased leaves a brother, W.W. Byrnes of Belfast, N.Y., a son J.B. Alexander, of Toledo, O., and a step-daughter Mrs. H.C. French, of Cassopolis. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at four o’clock, Rev. Wm. M. Roe, officiating, interment being made in the family plot at Oak Ridge.
