Berrien County Record 16 Jun 1999
The Berrien County record carried the obituary of Gustie Anderson on 16 Jun 
1999 and it reads:  “Gustie F. Anderson Buchanan-Gustie F. Anderson, 79, died 
Monday, June 7 in Lakeland Medical Center, Niles.  Mrs. Anderson was born 
April 15, 1920 in New Troy and lived in the area a lifetime.  She was retired 
from Industrial Rubber Co. in St. Joseph.  Surviviors include a son, Wayne 
Spaulding of Jacksonville, Texas; one granddaughter; two great-grandaughters; 
one sister, Evelyn Schutze of Niles; three half sisters, Ida Dukesherer of 
Benton Harbor, Violet Harper of Kingman, Ariz. And Edna Rowley of Eaton 
Rapids, N.J.; a twin brother, G. Frederick Peters of Naubinwa, Mich.’ and two 
half brothers, Adolph Peters of Arizona and John Haush of Buchanan.  Her 
husband, George Anderson died March 17, 1998.  Services were held Tuesday, 
June 10 in Boyd Funeral Home.  Burial was in New Troy Cemetery.  Note:  This 
should read John Hauch not “Haush”.  Gustie was the daughter of Julius and 
Otillie (Schlacht) Peter.  Ottile married 1st John Hauch and 2nd Julius 
Peter.
