Niles Daily Star, Friday, April 14, 1933
  Mrs. Lulu Bean, 47, wife of James W. Bean, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday
afternoon in her home, 114 Ferry street after a two days illness with heart
trouble.  She had been in ill health for several months.  Mrs. Bean was born in
Buchanan.  She came to Niles from that city six years ago.  She is survived by
her husband, James W. Bean, one son, Robert, age eight years, and by brothers
and sisters as follows:  Don Stevens, Bremen, Ind., Harry Stevens of Portland,
Ore.; Cyrus Stevens of Buchanan; Frank Stevens of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Etta
Chapel of Michigan City and Mrs. Myrtle Canfield of Niles.  The funeral services
will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Rutherford Funeral Home.  The
Rev. M. R. Everett, pastor of the Evangelical church will officiate.  Burial
will be made in Oakridge cemetery in Buchanan., Friends will be received at the
Rutherford Funeral Home.
