Herald Palladium, 13 Jan 1981:  Harold Brackett Sawyer-Harold E. Brackett, 64, 
of Route 1, Sawyer, died Monday at his home following a long illness.  Funeral 
services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Swem Funeral Home, Buchanan.  
Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery.  Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday 
at the funeral home.  Mr. Brackett was born March 29, 1916, in Weesaw 
Township.  He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Clark 
Equipment, Buchanan.  Survivors include: his wife, the former Arvena Hambrick; 
one son, William of Niles; two daughters-Mrs. Harlan Heppler of Sawyer, Mrs. 
Marvin (Charlotte) Walk of Loma Mar, Calif; one step-son, James Daniel of 
Orlando, Fla.:  11 grandchildren; three brothers-Edward of Buchanan, Jack of 
Three Oaks, Robert of Three Rivers; and four sisters-Mrs. Martin Mensinger of 
Sawyer, Mrs. Donna Jackson of Three Oaks, Mrs. Ellis Shepherdson of Galien, 
Miss Carol Brackett of Buchanan.”
