Butler, as was mentioned in the last issue of the Record as having happened last Thursday, has turned out to be one of the most sad that has occurred in Buchanan in many months. The blow he received produced concussion of the brain, from which inflammation set in, resulting in death, which occurred Tuesday morning. Mr. Butler was well respected by a large circle of friends, was a member of Summit Lodge No., 192, F. & A. M., which conducted the funeral ceremonies yesterday afternoon. He was also foreman of Buchanan Hose Company No. 1 and a member of the Buchanan Relief Association, composed of the mechanics of this place. In respect to his memory the Engine and Hose Companies attended the funeral in uniform, and the various manufactories were shut down to enable their employes[sic] to attend the funeral, by all of whom he was highly respected. Mr. Butler was 34 years of age and leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss.
