June 22, 1960, page 2 Thomes D. Causey, 76, 1735 S. 15th St., died at 1 p.m. Monday in his home following an illness of one year. Mr. Causey, a retired blacksmith for the New York Central Railroad, was born May 26, 1883 in Pleasant Garden, N.C. and came to Niles in 1929 from Logansport, Ind. At the time of the death he was operating a lawn mower service. Surviving are his widow, Pearle; four daughters, Mrs. Willa May Cohen, Mount Airy, N.C., Mrs. May Griffeth, South Bend; Mrs. James Greer, Logansport, Ind. And Miss Louise Causey, Durham, N.C.; a stepson James Cooper, Niles; three step-daughters, Mrs. Hazel Parker, South Bend, Mrs. Pearle Whitmore, Dowagiac, and Mrs. Dolly Mitchel, Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Mrs. Annie Grant, Chicago; 15 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Kiger and Halbritter Funderal Home with John Kinner, a minister-evangelist of the Niles Church of Christ of which he had been a member, officiating. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville. Friends are being received at the funeral home. Additional Comments: Surviving widow, Pearle, is daughter of James Armstrong Madron and Eliza Grice. Her first marriage to Elmer Cooper ended in divorce.
