Churchill and Mrs. Susan Churchill. Mr. Churchill passed away this morning and Mrs. Churchill about 2 o'clock this afternoon. Both have been in poor health for some time. (These people are not related to the best of my knowledge.) The Acorn, Thursday, April 25, 1918, page 3, columns 1-2 Mrs. Susan Churchill Passes Away Mrs. Susan Churchill was born at Bertrand, Ind., Feb 23, 1834, and passed away at her home on North Elm Street Thursday noon, April 18, 1918, death being caused from general disability. She was united in marriage to Mr. Cyrus Churchill in the year 1854. During the year 1870 the deceased moved to Three Oaks, and has since been a resident of this place. She was a member of the Congregational Church and of the Old Reliable Class and was faithful in attendance as long as her health permitted. The funeral was held at the Congregational Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J.S. Hamilton officiated. Misses Velma Helmick and Lois B. Fisher sang, "O, Think of the Home Over There", "Rock of Ages", and "The Homeland". She leaves to mourn her loss, a daughter, Mrs. Ida Savage and family and host of friends and neighbors. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Orla Kizer of Niles and Miss Cora and Isaac Calvert of South Bend.
