March 1, 1944, page 2 ELMER COOPER, 70, DIES AFTER STROKE Elmer Cooper, 70, Pucker street, died in Pawating Hospital at 8:45 this morning. He was taken there after suffering a stroke Saturday while on his way to work at the Robert Lamberton farm. He was born in Berrien Springs Feb. 7, 1875, and is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leon Parker, Route 6, South Bend,; Mrs. Bennie Whitemore, Dowagiac, and Mrs. Fred Kerbs, Walteria, Calif.; a son, James Cooper, with the army in England; and a brother, James Cooper, with whom he made his home north of Niles. Friends may call at the Rutherford funeral home. Additional Comments: Married Pearle M. Madron about 1910, divorced between 1920 and 1930.
