Davis Berrien Springs—Robert A. Davis, 70, resident of Berrien Springs for the past 48 years, died Monday evening in the Barrett Rest Home at Clear Lake Woods, Buchanan, where he had been a patient for two and half years. Mr. Davis, a printer by trade, was born Feb. 10, 1888, in Buchanan, the son of Benjamin and Jossie Snell Davis and was married Nov. 11, 1911, in Berrien Springs to Ella J. Simpson, who preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 1951. During his lifelong career as a printer he worked for the Journal Era newspaper here, the Niles Daily Star, South Bend Tribune and the Berrien County Record at Buchanan. For a few years during World War I, he was employed at the Clark Equipment Company at Buchanan. He was a member of the Evangelical Untied Brethren Church here and for many years served as secretary of the Sunday school and official church board. Surviving are: his 98 years old mother in Buchanan; two sons, Orville Davis, of Berrien Springs, and Paul Davis, of LaMesa, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Reinke, of Buchanan; three grandchildren, and a nephew. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday in the Evangelical United Brethren Church here with the pastor, the Rev. Norman Crotser, officiating. Burial will be in Long Lake Cemetery.
