Day, who has been a citizen of this village continuously since 1836, died at his home, at the corner of Front and Portage streets, yesterday morning, Nov. 11, aged within a few days of 81 years. Mr. Day came with his family to Buchanan in 1836, and bought of Leonard Madron his claim, with a small house and a few other effects. The claim being what now forms a greater portion of the south part of the village of Buchanan, and known as Day's addition. He has been actively connected with the business of the town, being for a number of years a half owner of the Day & Rough Wagon Factory, and at different times in the mercantile business. There remains of his family, his widow and two daughters, Mrs. J.P. Binns and Mrs. J.M. Mathews, both of whom are now in this place, arriving here just before the death of their father. The funeral services will be held at his late home to-morrow (Friday) afternoon at 1 o'clock. Niles Democrat, Sat.
