	MISS SARAH GALBREATH was born in Wayne county, Ind., in 1897[sic]; married to
Mr. Chas. Cowles, May 30, 1834 (aged 14 yrs. 7 mo.), who died a number of years
ago.  This union was blessed with seven children, two of whom, Mrs. W.W. Graves
of St. Joseph, Mich., and Mrs. A.J. Crandell of South Bend, Ind., with one
sister Mrs. Julia Pierce of Buchanan, survive her.  Mrs. Cowles was married to
Mr. William McGowen, Aug 16, 1897, who also survives her.  Mrs. McGowen was a
great sufferer for the past year from heart failure and rheumatism, and was
confined to her bed about two months, and fell asleep easily and peacefully at
2:30 p.m. on July 8, 1898, at her home on River street, Buchanan,
	Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, and interment made in Oak Ridge
cemetery.
