OBITUARY

James H. Grice was born in Virginia, Aug. 10, 1835 and died at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Allie Matthews, at South Bend, Dec. 10, 1907, aged 72 years, 4
months.  Mr. Grice was a veteran of the Civil War.  He leaves to mourn his
departure a wife and 8 children; Mrs. Allie Matthews of South Bend; Mrs. Mary E.
Pontas, of Buchanan, Mrs. Jane Maddron, of Niles; Henry and Jesse Grice, South
Bend; Dave Grice of Pokagon, Mich., Newton and Harvey Grice of South Dakota,
also 10 grand children and 7 great grand children.  Funeral services were held
at the home of his daughter in South Bend last Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock,
Rev. Jolly of South Bend, officiating.  Interment in Oak Ridge.

record interchangeably use James H. and Henry J.  Wife Caroline Hunter married
at LaPorte Co., Ind. March 7, 1961.
