Haines, 89, 1221 S. 13th St., Niles, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, May 9, at Pawating Hospital. He was born April 5, 1894, in Knox, Ind. On Aug. 16, 1915, in Wasepi, Mich., he married Caroline Esther Maddron, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Esther McIntyre of Decatur, Ill.; five grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He had been a resident of Berrien County most of his life. He retired from Wheelabrator-Frye Co., Mishawaka, on July 8, 1959, as a welder. He was a member of First Church of Christ Christian in Niles. Services will be at 10:30 a.m . Wednesday, May 11, at Pifer-Smith Funeral Home, Rev. Russell Ross of First Church of Christ Christian will officiate. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today.
