Obiturary from the October 26, 1918 Three Oaks Acorn: 

Obiturary of Mrs. August Hamann
	Miss Mary Gerber was born April 16, 1836, at Ranso, Wittenburgh, 
Germany, and passed away at her home at New Buffalo, Monday, Oct. 21, after 
nine weeks of illness, death was due to general debility.  
	She was married to August Hamann, April 4, 1857 and came to this 
country at this time.  
	To this union were born 8 children: 6 boys and two girls, of which 
three died in infancy, leaving Ernest, Charlie, Henry, William and Augusta, 
fifteen grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 
	The funeral was private and was held at the home Thursday afternoon at 
1:30 o’clock.  Six grandsons acted as pall bearers.
