Mrs. Hamann died Monday (June 10, 1985). The Rev. Gregory Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home. Mrs. Hamann was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Lakeside, Mich. On Oct. 19, 1943, in Norfolk, Va., she married William Hamann Sr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William Hamann Jr., Jimmie Hamann and Stephan Hamann, all of New Buffalo; nine grandchildren; her mother, Viola Covert, New Buffalo; three brothers, Howard Covert and Jack Covert, both of New Buffalo, and David Covert, Los Angeles, Calif.; and two sisters, Geraldine Glossinger, Fife Lake, Mich., and Susan Eiche, Appalachian, New York. A son, Christopher, and two Brothers, Clyde and Jimmie, are deceased. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
