Harroff, 70, was trampled and gored to death by a bull late Monday afternoon as he attempted to halter the animal in the barn. The lifeless body of Mr. Harroff who had lived in the Wagner district for 32 years, was discovered by his wife Minnie when she entered the barn to milk the cows. The bull, which belonged to a neighboring farmer, Floyd Weaver, had been pastured by Mr. Harroff during the summer. Sunday the bull got loose and Mr. Harroff managed to drive it into a stall in the barn. Weaver planned to get the animal this morning and take it to his farm. Mrs. Harroff called neighbors after finding the body. Mr. Harroff was born Aug. 18, 1882, the son of Isaac and Anna Harroff, in Buchanan township. On Dec. 2, 1903, he married the former Minnie Reinke in Dayton. Surviving him are his widow; two sones, Donald E. of Buchanan and Herbert W. of Niles; three brothers Le Vegh and Herman of route 2, Buchanan, and Clarence of Chicago, a sister, Mrs. Pearl Miller, route 2, Buchanan; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, No 214 and the Dayton Camp of Modern Woodmen of America. The body will be in state in the Swem funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be heald at 2 p.m. Thursday at teh funeral home with the Rev. James W. Greenwood, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
