SILAS HARTLINE, 71, BUCHANITE, DIES
Retired Farmer, Father of Niles Woman, is Stricken

Buchanan, Aug. 15--Silas Hartline, 71 retired famer and father of Mrs. Peter
Blanta, Niles, died Sunday night in the county hospital in Berrien Center after
an illness of two years' duration.

He was born March 16 1867, in Buchanan township, where he lived until he moved
to Buchanan a short time ago.  His parents were the late Joshua and Cleopatra
Hartline.

Survivors are the widow, the former Martha Frew, whom he married March 19, 1895;
four sons and four daughters--Mrs. Blanta; Mrs. Virginia Bort, Buchanan; Mrs.
Carrie Patton, Galien; Mrs. Bessie Grankey, Sawyer; Alvin, Buchanan; Silas and
Charles, New Troy; and Clinton, Galien.

The Rev. Thomas Rice will conduct the service at 2 'clock Tuesday afternoon in
the Swem funeral home.  Burial will be in Riverside cemetery north of Three Oaks.
