He was born in Weesaw Township, Feb 22, 1856, and lived there all of his life except for three years spent in Berrien Springs. He had lived on the farm where he died for 25 years. He is survived by his wife; by one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Belle Robards of Hollywood, Mich., by five sons, Louis and George of Baroda, Clyde of Pennsylvania, Harry of Buchanan and John, who lives at home. One brother, David Hartline, lives in Buchanan. A short prayer service was held at the home at 1 p.m. Monday, followed by a funeral service in the Hills Corners Christian church, Rev. McKnight preaching the sermon. Burial was made in Weesew[sic] cemetery.
