	Franklin Albert Hartwell, 67, 1021 Broadway, died at 7:22 a.m. today 
in Pawating Hospital where he had been a patient since Oct. 20.  He had been 
in failing health for a number of years.
	Mr. Hartwell, a retired professional dry cleaner, was born Aug. 24, 
1983[sic], in Detroit and came to Niles in 1921 from Bay City.
	Surviving are:  his widow, Bessie; a daughter, Mrs. Ellis Hurst, 
Rantoul, Ill., and three grandchildren.
	Friends may call at the Pifer Funeral Home beginning Saturday 
afternoon.  Arrangements for memorial services are incomplete.

HARTWELL RITES SET

	Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m Monday in the First Baptist 
Church here for Franklin Albert Hartwell, 67, 1021 Broadway, who died Friday 
morning in Pawating Hospital following an extended illness.  The pastor, the 
Rev. Earl J. Wickstrom, will officiate and burial will be in Mission Hills 
Memorial Gardens, Sumnerville.
	Friends are being received at the Pifer Funeral Home.
