Herald Palladium 29 Mar 1979
The Herald Palladium carried the obituary for Arthur Hauch on 29 Mar 1979 and 
it reads:  “Arthur H. Hauch Sawyer-Arthur H. Hauch, 52, Route 1, Tower Hill 
Road, Sawyer, died at 12:30 a.m. today at Mercy Hospital, Benton harbor, 
following an apparent heart attack.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 
10 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home, Bridgman.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, 
Three Oaks.  Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o’clock tonight.  
Mr. Hauch was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Benton harbor.  Prior to retiring, he 
had been employed as a truck driver by Signal Delivery Service, St. Joseph.  
Survivors include his wife, the former Edith Barnes; four sons, Erick of 
Yankton, S.D., Bruce of Bridgman, Michael of Ypsilanti and Peter at home; a 
daughter, Mrs. Lee (Bonnie) Christopher of Sawyer; his mother, Mrs. Marie 
Riske of Sawyer; three brothers, Herman Hauch of Sawyer, Albert Hauch of Three 
Oaks and Erick Riske of Burlington, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Baldwin of 
Bellevue, Ill., and Mrs. Clara Gast of Bridgman; and three grandchildren.”
