Herald Palladium 21 Oct 1980
The Herald Palladium carried the obituary for Lydia Hauch on 21 Oct 1980 and 
it reads:  “ Lydia Hauch Mrs. Lydia Hauch, 76, of 2183 Colfax, Benton Harbor, 
died early this morning at Mercy Hospital.  Funeral arrangements were 
incomplete this afternoon at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service.  
Mrs. Hauch is survived by: three sons-Daniel of Benton harbor, Elmer of 
Baroda, Eric of Coloma; one brother, Gottliebe Radtke of Hartford; 14 
grandchildren.  Her husband, William, preceded her in death in 1973.”  The 
following day the same newspaper carried this follow-up:  “Lydia Hauch Funeral 
services for Mrs. Lydia Hauch, 76, of 2183 Colfax, Benton Harbor, who died 
Tuesday will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin 
Funeral Service.  Burial will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery.  Friends may 
call beginning at 7 p.m. today at the chapel.  Mrs. Hauch was born Dec. 23, 
1904, in Russia.  Survivors not previously mentioned include 14 grandchildren 
and six great-grandchildren.”
