Wegner, 82, of Berrien Center died Tuesday at Berrien General Hospital, Berrien Center, after a long illness. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the Fairplain Chapel, Florin Funeral Service, Benton Harbor, where friends may call beginning 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Glendora Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, of which she was a member. Mrs. Wegner was born Aug 3, 1911, in Nekoosa, Wis. Survivors include: a son, Lester Hauch of Coloma; a brother, Leonard Mattner of Watervliet; a sister, Eleanore Forbes of Nekoosa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, August in 1940.” This was Margaret Mattner who married August Hauch on 07 Jun 1930. She must have remarried after August died in 1940. August Hauch is buried in the Glendora Cemetery also and the cemetery records indicate they are buried side by side so she was buried as Margaret A. Hauch. The marriage record for Margaret A. Hauch and Ferdinand H. Wegner is dated 06 Dec 1941. Ferdinand was 46 years of age and Margaret was 30 years of age. Her maiden name is given in this record as Mattner. Her father is recorded as Daniel Mattner and her mother as Leokadia Boone.
