Herald Palladium 08 Mar 1982
The obituary of Marie Hauch was carried in the Herald Palladium of 08 Mar 1982 
and it reads:  “Marie Reske Sawyer-Mrs. Marie Reske, 93, of Sawyer Road, 
Sawyer, died Saturday morning at Berrien General Hospital, Berrien Center.  
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 
Sawyer, of which she was a member.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, 
Three Oaks.  Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Boyd Funeral Home, 
Bridgman.  Memorials may be made to the church.  Mrs. Reske was born Aug. 1, 
1888, in Germany and had resided in Sawyer since 1920.  Survivors include: 
three sons-Herman Hauch of Sawyer, Albert Hauch of Three Oaks and Eric Reske 
of Pentleton, Ind.; two daughters-Mrs. Martha Baldwin of Bellville, Ill., and 
Mrs. Clara Gast of Sawyer; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and one 
great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, 
Reinhold Hauch, her second husband, Fred Reske, and four sons-Ernest, John, 
Arthur and Eric Hauch.”
