ANOTHER OLD CITIZEN--Mr. Michael Hess, died at his home in this village Sunday,
Feb. 6, aged 76 years.  Mr. Hess was born in Walton, Delaware County, N.Y., Dec.
23rd, 1810.  Was married to his first wife, Mary A. Christman, in 1834, the
mother of his only children Henry and Benjamin, now living in Chicago and Grand
Rapids, respectively. He came to Buchanan in the fall of 1855, where he lost his
wife in 1858.  Was married his present wife, Julia A. Butler, June 11, 1873. 
His wife and two children survive him.  He has been a worthy and respected
citizen of Buchanan for 31 years.  The funeral services were held yesterday.

Michael Hess, an old resident of this place, died last night, at his home.

Additional Comments:
wife referred to in this obit was Julia A. Galbreath, born 1 Sept 1825 in Ind.,
married Wm. T. Brown in Buchanan 29 March 1840, married Benjamin Butler 23 July
1864, subsequently married Michael Hess on 11 June 1873 and Pitt Pierce 23 Nov.
1890.  She died 2 Jan. 1910.
