Lincoln avenue, died this morning at 4 o'clock in Pawating hospital, where he had been a patient for two months for care, although he had been in ill health for more than two years. Mr. Kavanagh was 76 years old. He at one time engaged in farming on the Sumnerville road. He was married in Niles 10 years ago to Miss Margaret Leonard, a member of a prominent pioneer family, and they went to Peoria, Ill., to reside. After the death of Mrs. Kavanagh's sister, Miss Kate Leonard, Mrs. and Mrs. Kavanagh remained in Niles and took up their residence at what has been for many years the Leonard home on Lincoln avenue. Mrs. Kavanagh died in November, 1926. Mr. Kavanagh is survivied by a sister, Mrs. Mary Ann Lockman, 78, who came to NIles last March, to assist in caring for her brother and who is still in Niles. A nephew is expected from New York and until he arrives the funeral plans will not be completed. The services will probably be held on Saturday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church. Burial will take place in Calvary cemetery. (Source: Niles Daily Star, Thursday, January 3, 1929, page 1, col. 4, microfilm Niles District Library.)
