April 15, 1915, page 3 JAMES LAVELLE James LaVelle was born in Oswego, New York, May 20, 1833, and died at this home, in Dayton, Mich. April 9, 1915, age 81 years, 10 months and 18 days. He came to Michigan in 1849. He was married to Abby Jane Williams in 1856. To this union were born six children, four of whom are dead and two living. He was a veteran of the Civil war, enlisting in Co., G. 26h Michigan Infantry, served four years. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, who is an invalid; one son, Isaac, at home, and one daughter, Mrs. Mayme Annis, of South Bend, Ind. and other relatives and a host of friends. He was a loving husband and devoted father, and was loved by all who knew him. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon by John W. Freeland. Burial at the Mt.
