Lee, 90, Passes Away After a Lingering Illness George W. Lee, 90, a resident of Berrien county for 70 years, and a veteran of the civil war, died Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Don Denison, 313 N. Thirteenth street. He had been a patient sufferer for three years. Mr. Lee was born in Stanford, Vt., a son of Luther and Mary Lee. When a young man he took up his residence in Berrien County, and engaged in farming for the greater part of his life. Early during the Civil war he enlisted in Co. E. 12th Michigan infantry as a private, and after active service was discharged as an invalid. He was later drafted and served in Co., C, 15th Michigan Infantry until the end of the war. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Denison and Mrs. Olive Bowering, of Niles, and by one son, George G. Lee, of Galien, and by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at Saints church in Galien Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Private services will be held at the home here. Burial will take place in the family lot, where Mrs. Lee, who died 16 years ago is buried.
